On 7/6/19 around 5:00pm, LaFollette officers responded to a burglary call at 1015 West Central Avenue in LaFollette. Upon arrival, officer found out that a Timothy Williams had barricaded himself inside the home and stated that he was armed and if anyone tried to enter the residence he would shoot them and then shoot himself. After approximately 4 hours of negotiations with the LPD Special Response Team, Mr. Williams exited the house peacefully surrendering himself to officers. He has been transported to Tennova Hospital where he will undergo a mental evaluation. Charges are pending at this time until after the evaluation is complete. The Lafollette Police Department would like to thank the Campbell County Sheriffs Office, LUB, Campbell County EMS and the LaFollette Fire Department for their assistance in achieving this peaceful resolution.
