Breaking!! Campbell Woman Missing: Possible Danger.

A Campbell County woman is missing and possibly in danger. Campbell County Sheriff Robbie K. Goins is asking for the public’s help in locating a LaFollette woman

A call from an unidentified male came into E911 at 12:24 pm this afternoon. The man told the dispatcher he witnessed a disturbing event involving 26 year old Shenna Baird and he was concerned for her well being.

At 2080 Long Hollow Rd near LaFollette, the caller said he saw Baird in the front passenger seat of a small red car and detailed that she had a “busted head with blood gushing from her face.” The caller identified the driver of the car as 32 year old James Peter Eberharter of LaFollette. The man went on to say that a child was let out of the car. He said that Eberharter then drove off at a high rate of speed.

Eberharter is a wanted man. He is currently out of jail on a half million dollar bond and is wanted for violation of probation. If you know of the whereabouts of Eberharter and/or Baird, call Sheriff Goins at 423-562-7446 immediately.

Lady Cougar Softball Has Big Week

Some big things have happened for Lady Cougar Softball since the season began.

Taylor Shanks got her first career homerun in a loss to Oak Ridge earlier in the season.

As a team they have picked up some big wins in the last week.

Over the previous weekend they picked up a big win over the Lady Indians of Oneida, avenging an early season loss. They defeated the Lady Indians 8-1. Jacolby Lane got things rolling as she hit an in park home run. Jenna Byrd had an RBI double in the game.

A couple of days later the Lady Cougars battled the Lady Panthers of Cumberland Gap. The Lady Cougars posted a tight 11-10 win that day.

Then they battled the Lady Highlanders of Scott County on Thursday. The Lady Cougars won in a dominating fashion as the game was called via the mercy rule as they Lady Cougars were up 17-1 after the third inning concluded. The Lady Cougars had a big opening volley. The first inning saw Brenna Rutherford go two for two at the plate with a trio of RBI’s. Jenna Byrd had a big first as well with a three RBI double. Byrd also had an RBI triple in the game.

Home Federal Bank In Harrogate Robbed

Shortly before 5 PM a man with a grey shirt over his head entered the Home Federal Bank branch in Harrogate and proceeded to rob the bank.

The suspect fled on foot and Claiborne County Police and the Tennessee Highway Patrol are on scene.

Robyn R. King

Mrs. Robyn R. King, age 53 of LaFollette passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019. She was preceded in death by Daughter, Brae Frazier and Parents, Leon and Patricia Frazier Alsup, and 2 Sisters.

Survivors: Husband, Bennie King; Daughter, Shayla King and companion Harrison Collins; Sister, Shelby Hill; Sister-in-Law, Rosie Jones. Several other relatives and friends.

Family and friends will meet Monday, March 25, 2019, 11:00 A.M. at Allred Cemetery for Graveside Services and Interment. Online condolences for Mrs. King may be made at Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Robyn R. King.

Fields Named Superintendent Of The Month

Jennifer Fields has been the Director of Schools for Campbell County Schools for a little over a year. In that short time she has implemented. School safety has been upgraded, academic coaches have been put into the system, and opportunities for more Career Technical Education has been offered both at the high school and dual credit with Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Caryville are among the many accomplishments under the leadership of Fields.

Now she is being recognized for her efforts by the Tennessee Organization of School Superintendents in their monthly spotlight as Superintendent of the Month.
