Thursday night was the final district game for the Lady Cougars as they traveled to Clinton and battled the Lady Dragons in the Don Lockard Gymnasium. They had apparently shaken off whatever ailed them in their loss to Oak Ridge as they were back in a dominating fashion.
For Madison Brady it was a milestone night. The junior, who is a verbal commit to Xavier University, put in her 1,000th point. In fact at half time she was sitting at 999 and then in the game’s third frame Brady put in the shot that pushed her in to quadruple digits.
Brady is the third Lady Cougar this year to hit a scoring milestone this season. Haley Comer joined the 1,000 point club a few short games ago and Skylar Boshears joined the 1,500 point club earlier in the season. It is not out of the question that Brady could finish her Lady Cougar career with 1,500 points and 1,000 rebounds.
The Lady Cougars won the game and a share of the district title by a score of 68-49. They will close out the regular season at home against one of the only teams to defeat them this season, Morristown West.
