As a Lady Cougar Sarah Cain was the general. During her time in the John R.W. Brown Gymnasium she was the leader of the Lady Cougars both in practice and during the games. When her playing career as a Lady Cougar ended it shocked nobody when she signed to play on the next level. Cain signed with the Lions of Bryan College. Any one who followed the Lady Cougars knew she would make an impact on the next level. The only question was when.
The answer to that question was immediately. The hard working Cain worked throughout the off season to get ready for her college career. It paid off quickly as she started seeing plenty of playing time off the bench.
Last Saturday the Lady Lions took on their Appalachian Athletic Conference game versus the Knights of St. Andrews University (out of North Carolina). Cain drew first blood in the contest as she got her team on the board first in route to a game that saw her score 22 points.
By the end of the game Cain was 7-11 from the floor, including 3 treys. She also had five rebounds and a pair of assists.
Bryan is now 7-3 overall with a record of 4-2 in the conference.
Wednesday will see them take on Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Reinhardt University (Ga.), currently ranked 18th in the nation.
