CCMS Boys Soccer traveled to Horace Maynard for their end of season tournament. They managed to win 2 out of 3 games. After spending 7 straight hours at the field, and right at 4 hours of on field play time, our Junior Cougars brought home 2nd place over all. CCMS finished 8-3 over all to claim 2nd place in regular season and 2nd place in tournament.

Game #1, Cougars won 4-1 over Horace Maynard, giving up their first goal in 5 straight games. 8th grade captain, striker Caleb Dabney has the hat trick scoring the final 3 goals after 6th grade forward Colton Robertson struck first.

Game #2, championship game versus Oneida. Our Junior Cougars held an already undefeated power house in Oneida to a 3-1 tight contest, half way through the first half, when the Indians over powered our Cougars with 2 final goals to win 5-1. The lone goal was scored by 6th grade forward Landon York with the assist to 8th grade captain Center-mid Eli Austin.

Game #3, Cougars hold off Cumberland Gap to claim sole possession of 2nd place, 1-0. As the game came to a close, looking like a 0-0 tie, and head to a PK shootout, 8th grade captain center-mid Eli Austin charged Cumberland Gaps goal against 4 defenders and scored the game winning goal with 23 seconds left on the clock in regulation. 8th grade captains Tristan Ackerman and Ian Silcox combined their lock down defense skills to shutout Cumberland Gap, along with defensive stand out 8th grade captain center-back Johnathon Long’s heroic defensive efforts.
