Lenzy Kennedy

Lenzy Kennedy, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2012. He was a very loving son, brother, and uncle that enjoyed going to church, spending time with his family, and playing pranks on people.

He was preceded in death by his parents Johnny & Gertrude (Daugherty) Kennedy, wife Marlyn Joyce Kennedy, brothers Landon, Jacob, and Robert Kennedy, sister Nemia McGhee, and 4 infant sisters.

He is survived by his daughter Candy Kennedy, brother David Kennedy of Dayton, OH, sisters Donna Hawkins and husband Daniel of Lake City and Gail Bowden of Dayton, OH, special great-nieces and nephews McKensy Wallace, Lilly McIntosh, Kandence McIntosh, & Connor McIntosh, and special cousin Tonya Watson.

There will be no services at this time.

Edward S. Teague

Edward S. Teague, age 81, of LaFollette passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2012. He was a longtime member, deacon, treasurer, and Sunday school teacher at Midway Baptist Church in Clairfield. He was a current member at Elm Grove Baptist Church. He loved gardening and working outside.

He was preceded in death by his parents Willie & Ara Teague, brothers Raymond, Fred, and Chester Teague, sister Geraldine Teague, and grandson Jordan Teague.

He is survived by his wife Irene Teague of LaFollette, sons Roger Teague & wife Liz of Canden, William Teague of Nashville, and Mark Teague & wife Laura of Williamsburg, KY, daughter Sharon Benge & husband EL of Lafollette, sisters Georgia Douglas of Eagen and Hazel Clear of LaFollette, grandchildren William Teague & wife Sherry, Cressie Teague, Tara Sebastian & husband John, Jacob Teague, and Jonathan Teague, great-grandchildren Natalie Teague, David Teague, and Christopher Smallwood.

Funeral service will be at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2012 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Dana Akinsand Ed Thomas officiating. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Interment will be on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Green Hills Cemetery in Middlesboro, KY. Pallbearers will be sons & grandsons.

Wayne Cox

Wayne Cox, age 85, of LaFollette passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at his home.
He was of the Baptist faith. US Army veteran of WWII. Preceded in death by wife, Betty Miller Cox; son, Allen Wayne Cox; parents, Thomas & Lassie Jordan Cox; sisters, Lillian Thompson, Marcella McNeeeley, and Dorothy Chadwick; brothers, Everette, Millard T. & James & Ova Cox.

James “Don” Wilson

Mr. James “Don” Wilson went to be with the Lord and his beloved daughter, Donna, Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville. He was a member of Alder Springs Baptist Church, a retired insurance agent with American General, and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by parents Virgil and Ora Marie Brantley Wilson; Daughter, Donna Marie Wilson Kitts; Brothers, Dennis, Eugene, and Paul Wilson; Sisters, Margie Sue Wilson and Wanda Peters Helton; Mother-in-law, Carrie Baird.

Don is survived by wife, Valerie Baird Wilson; Daughter, Amy Bolton; Grandchildren, Joseph and Johnna Kitts, Sierra Wilson, and Summer Bolton; Brother, Claude Wilson; Sisters, Peggy Hornsby and Catherine Paul; Father-in-law, Robert A. Baird.

Funeral Services Thursday 8 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Elkins and Rev. Kenny Gillum officiating. Family and friends will meet Friday 10 A.M. at Stokes Cemetery for graveside services and interment with Military Honors conducted by the Campbell County Honor Guard. Dorothy P. Lawson

Mrs. Dorothy P. Lawson age 67 of Warren, MI formerly of LaFollette passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 at St. John Macomb Oakland Hospital-Macomb Center in Warren, MI. She attended the Parkview Church of Christ. Preceded in death by husband, Presley Lawson, parents, George and Marie Messer Mefford.

Survivors: Children, Mark Lawson, Tammy Low and husband John, and Scott Lawson, all of Michigan; Grandchildren, Andrew Scott Lawson and wife Taylor, U.S. Army stationed in Washington State, and Sarah Mae Lawson of Michigan; Sisters, Geraldine Gaylor of LaFollette, Nona McDaniel of Jacksboro, and Sarah Mefford of Lake City; Brothers, Phillip Mefford of Caryville, and Tim Mefford of Jacksboro. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services Friday 8 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Timothy Mefford officiating. Interment Saturday 10 A.M. at Murrayville Cemetery.
