Opal H. Miracle

Mrs. Opal H. Miracle, age 83 of LaFollette passed away Saturday, August 27, 2011, at St. Mary’s Health & Rehab Center. She was retired from Imperial Reading Corp. and was a member of Glade Springs Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Tom and Mamie Pierce Capps, sisters, Milda Pierce, Alice Heck, and Ellen Tolliver, brother, George Capps, and sister-in-law, Geneva Capps, and brothers-in-law, Freeman Pierce and Arthur (Buddy) Heck.

Survivors: Husband, Oscar Miracle; sons, Gary Miracle and wife, Vanessa, Danny Miracle and wife, Aslee, and Michael Miracle all of LaFollette; 8 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; sister, Hester Woodby and husband, Ira of Harrogate; brother, Willie Capps of Speedwell, sister-in-law, Mattie Lee Capps of Indiana, and brother-in-law, Claude Tolliver of LaFollette. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services Monday 8 P.M. at Walters Chapel with Rev. Larry Watts and Rev. Hobert McCreary officiating. Family and friends will meet Tuesday 10 A.M. at Walters Funeral Home and proceed to Greasy Hollow Cemetery in Speedwell for graveside services and interment. Edna Rose Garland

Mrs. Edna Rose Garland age 72 of LaFollette passed away at Golden Living Center-Windwood in Clinton. She was a member of Indiana Avenue Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Roy Garland and a son, Roy Allen Garland.

Survivors: Daughter Jackie Garland; Sons, Carlos “Jim” Garland and Charles “Chuck” Garland and wife Christie, all of LaFollette. Grandsons, Chucky Shelton and Tyler Garland and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services Sunday 5 P.M. at New Beginning Community Church of God with Rev. Junior Dople officiating. Geraldine Boshears

Geraldine Boshears, of the Mt. Paran community in Jacksboro, passed into the care of her Lord and Savior on August 23, 2011 at her home. She was a member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her mother, Addie Leach Cross.

Rick Warren of Knoxville, whom she loved as her own.

She also leaves behind her beloved dear friends, Charles and Betty Ralston, Louise Adkins, Ruby Moneymaker, Geraldine Burton, Wayne Branscom of Jacksboro and Vivian Murray of Jellico.

At her request, Geraldine’s remains were donated to the University Of Tennessee Medical Center in Memphis and no public services are to be held.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or other preferred charity.

The family extends special thanks to the many friends and relatives in the community for their love and prayers. Also to Dr.’s Robert Montgomery and Robert Blacky for their years of care and support and to St. Mary’s Mercy Hospice staff for their compassion and guidance in the last days.

Robbie Sue Howard

Robbie Sue Howard, age 93, of LaFollette went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 20, 2011 at St. Mary’s of Campbell County after a long illness. She was born in Jacksboro, TN on April 10, 1918 and was of the Baptist faith and a member of Vasper Baptist Church. She was the oldest and last survivor of seven siblings. Mrs. Howard loved cooking, canning, gardening, flowers and vegetables and her family was her life.

Preceded in death by husband: John Howard. Stepson: Virgil Howard. Parents: Charlie S. and Maggie L. Rains Queener. Brothers: Charles, David, Harvey and Gifford. Sisters: Bea Meredith and Gertie Chastain.

Survivor son: William M. Queener and wife Ann of LaFollette. Stepson: Billy Howard and Wife Marilyn of Myrtle Beach, SC. Two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 8 PM on Monday August 22, 2011 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Danny King and Bro. William C. Queener officiating. Interment will be 11 AM Tuesday August 23, 2011 in Powell Valley Cemetery and Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM on Monday before funeral service.
