Ronald O. Bowling

Ronald O. Bowling of LaFollette passed away on Monday, August 22, 2011. He was born on January 25, 1957. He enjoyed going to church at Macedonia Baptist and being with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father Odell Bowling.

He is survived by his mother Delores Collier Bowling of LaFollette, wife Freda Bowling of LaFollette, sons Ronald O Bowling II and Shawn Bowling & wife Kim all of LaFollette, sisters Rita Bowling of LaFollette and Regena Savage of Jacksboro, granddaughter Valindsey Wheeler, grandson Landon Huddleston, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. in the Martin Wilson chapel with Rev JT Asbury, Rev Virgil Farmer, and Rev William Hicks officiating. Interment will be on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Macedonia Cemetery. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Martin Wilson chapel. Pallbearers will be Michael Hicks, Ronald Bowling, Shawn Bowling, Ed Blackwell, Ben Collins, Gary Russell, Greg Price, Audie Long, and Dustin Maddox.

Robbie Sue Howard

Robbie Sue Howard, age 93, of LaFollette went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 20, 2011 at St. Mary’s of Campbell County after a long illness. She was born in Jacksboro, TN on April 10, 1918 and was of the Baptist faith and a member of Vasper Baptist Church. She was the oldest and last survivor of seven siblings. Mrs. Howard loved cooking, canning, gardening, flowers and vegetables and her family was her life.

Preceded in death by husband: John Howard. Stepson: Virgil Howard. Parents: Charlie S. and Maggie L. Rains Queener. Brothers: Charles, David, Harvey and Gifford. Sisters: Bea Meredith and Gertie Chastain.

Survivor son: William M. Queener and wife Ann of LaFollette. Stepson: Billy Howard and Wife Marilyn of Myrtle Beach, SC. Two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 8 PM on Monday August 22, 2011 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Danny King and Bro. William C. Queener officiating. Interment will be 11 AM Tuesday August 23, 2011 in Powell Valley Cemetery and Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM on Monday before funeral service.

Betty Lou Robinson

Betty Lou Robinson of LaFollette passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2011. She was born on May 17, 1932. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, constructing puzzles, and playing bingo.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jack & Francis Wilson, husband Kyle Robinson, daughter Teresa Robinson, sisters Oneida Campbell, Novella Gerrish, and Verdie Ivey, and brothers O.D. & Albert Wilson, and sons-in-law Johnny Sweet and Hobert Miller.

She is survived by her sons Kenneth Rutherford from Caryville, James Robinson and wife Mildred of Lake City, Albert Robinson and wife Cheryl of LaFollette, and Billy Robinson of LaFollette, daughters Jacqy Adams and husband Mark of Jacksboro, Irene Goins and husband Tim of LaFollette, Denise Sweet of LaFollette, Lou Ann Bean and husband Joe of Lake City, sisters Mary Jane Willoughby and Mabel Wilson both of LaFollette, brother Danny Wilson of LaFollette, 23 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. in the Martin Wilson chapel with Rev Ray Graham officiating. Interment will be on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Harness Cemetery. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Martin Wilson chapel.

Sharon Seay Grant

Grant, Sharon Seay , age 64, of Caryville was promoted to the next level of life on August 19, 2011. Sharon was born on July 27, 1947. Preceded in death by parents Lacy H. Seay, Jr. and Anita Seay McCarter; survived by husband Ralph Grant, son Thomas Grant and daughter-in-law Tiffany Huggins Grant; one sister Cherry Foster and brother-in-law, Steve Foster; many very special nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly; and very special friend Debbie Reagan.

Sharon was a beloved wife, devoted mother, amazing sister, and friend to everyone who knew her. Through multiple health issues and hospitalizations, she remained positive and upbeat – with a smile on her face, love in her heart, and a testimony on her lips to everyone she met. The love of God shown on her face.

Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, Sunday, August 21, at Cross-Smith Funeral Home in LaFollette, TN. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3:00 pm, Reverend Bill Waddell officiating. A graveside service at Sunrise Cemetery will conclude the service.

James M. Bowling, age 68, of LaFollette passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at St. Mary’s Campbell Co. Member of Alder Springs Baptist Church and US Army veteran.
