Foster M. White age 101, of LaFollette, passed away Friday, September 23, 2011 at his home. He was the oldest living member of Davis Chapel Community Baptist Church. Preceded in death by wife Asilee Dossett White, daughter Doris & infant daughter, Parents Alf & Louisa Berry White, Sister Ora Bell Miller, Brothers Clarence “Pete” & Walter White.

Paul Peterson, age 84, of Jacksboro passed away Wednesday, Spetember 21, 2011
at Mercy Residential Hospice in Halls. Member of Central Baptist Church in Caryville and 50 year member of Caryville Masonic Lodge No. 665 F&AM . Retired from Martin Marietta in Oak Ridge after 35 years of service. A veteran of WWII, US Army Air Corps, Korean War, and US Navy.
Preceded in death by parents, Leo & Ottie Jones Peterson; twin sister, Pauline Wilson; sisters, Helen Stanley & Reba Tompkins; brother, Billy Peterson.

Tom Thompson Jr. age 81 of Jacksboro passed away September 11, 2011 at the Methodist Medical Center. Tom enjoyed fishing, gardening and raising tomatoes and his family was his life.
Preceded in death by Parents: Thomas Bush and Elizabeth Dowell Thompson Sr. Granddaughter: Kristen Huckaby. Sister: Mildred Hatfield. Brother: Tyler and Jim Thompson.
Survived by Sons: Tommy Ray and wife Sharon Thompson of LaFollette and Gary Wayne Thompson both of Jacksboro. Daughters: Linda Kay and husband Ray Leamon of Knoxville. Sharon Ann McDonald of Benton City, Washington and Kimberly Gail Thompson of Lafollette. Sisters: Lucille Bean of Lafollette and Ruby Sharp of Smyrna, GA. 8 Grandchildren and 2 Great Granddaughters. Several nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 8 PM Tuesday September 13th, 2011 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Passmore officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM before the funeral service. Interment will be on Wednesday September 14th, 2011 at 10 AM in Campbell Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Naomi Widener age 85 of LaFollette passed away Friday, September 16, 2011, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Campbell County. She was retired from Imperial Reading Corporation after 33 years of service and former member and past president of LaFollette Rescue Squad Crewettes. She enjoyed going to the lake and houseboat with her husband, enjoyed traveling and had visited 48 states, loved bingo, and spending time with her family. Preceded in death by husband, Gaylor “Chalk” Widener, son, Ronnie Widener, daughters, Peggy Jo Widener and Libby Goins, parents, Julius and Nannie Canady Baldwin, and sister, Christine Widener.
Survivors: Daughter, Christine Paul and husband, Carl of LaFollette; sons, Jack Widener and wife, Marie of Duff and Bill Widener and wife, Patsy of Jacksboro; 9 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sister, Carrie Lee Bryant of Jellico. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services Sunday 8 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hobert McCreary officiating. Graveside services and interment Monday 11 A.M. at Woodlawn Cemetery. Emma L. Ward Epperson, 84, of Powell, Tennessee, formally of LaFollette, passed away Friday evening at Golden Living Center (Windwood) in Clinton, Tennessee. Emma is a member of the High Street Baptist Church of LaFollette, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Laurel Lodge Number 22. She enjoyed crocheting and crafts and she loved reading the Bible and singing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev James F. Epperson; parents, Ferdin and Creasey Ward; Brothers, Ben, Ed, and David; Sisters, Mary, Louisa, Bertie, Martha, Pearl, Elizabeth, and Bell. Emma is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Dr Frank (Jamie) Epperson of Knoxville, Tennessee and Mark (Carolyn) Epperson of Spring Hill, Florida; granddaughter, Carmen Epperson of Arizona, several nieces and nephews, and a host of wonderful friends. The family will receive friends from 5 – 6:30 p.m. in the Martin Wilson Chapel, LaFollette, Tennessee, with the funeral service to follow. Board Chairman, Tom Metcalf of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Halls, Tennessee will officiate. There will be a brief burial service Monday morning at 10 a.m. at Grantsboro Pond Cemetery with Dr. Frank Epperson officiating.
