Marie Suttles Meredith

Mrs. Marie Suttles Meredith age 89 of Douglasville, GA, formerly of LaFollette passed away Friday, December 23, 2011. She was a Charter Member of the LaFollette First Independent Missionary Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, James Raymond Meredith, parents, Rev. Foster and Mossie Moore Suttles.

Survivors: Son, James Raymond Meredith, Jr. and Wife Lula Bell, of Douglasville, GA; Granddaughter, Tina Meredith of Douglasville, GA; Grandson, Jeff Meredith of Douglasville, GA; Six Great-grandchildren, Two Great-great-grandchildren, Several special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services Tuesday 8 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Moore officiating. Family and friends will meet Wednesday 10 A.M. at Campbell Memorial Gardens for graveside services and interment. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Lathern Brantley

Lathern Brantley age 92 of LaFollette, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2011. He was a member of Mossy Springs Baptist Church in Union Co., but last attended Long Hollow Baptist Church. He served in WWII from July 1942 until December 1945 and was a member of DAV & TDF. Predeeded in death by parents Annias & Nancy Lynch Brantley, half sisters & brothers Stella McNeeley and Luvirney Smith, Ed Petree, Austin, Samuel & Jehue Brantley.

Flossie Marie Leach

Flossie Marie Leach, age 79, of Speedwell, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011. Member and former Sunday school teacher of Pine Grove Baptist Church. She volunteered as a Pink Lady and then retired after 24 years service as a CNA at age 74 from LaFollette Medical Center. She loved her family, her dogs, wildlife, enjoyed watching and feeding birds, her flower & vegetable gardens and especially her iris garden. Preceded in death by husband, Alex Leach; parents, Charlie & Nellie Butler Lawson.

Nola McDeerman Roach, age 87, of Jacksboro passed away Thursday, December 22, 2011. Preceded in death by husbands, Millard McDeerman & Lee “Bud” Roach; parents, Andy & Rose Ellison; brothers, Duard, Condy, & Clifford Ellison. Member of Fordtown Baptist Church and a WWII veteran.

Mrs. Lucille “Blue” Hunley age 79 of LaFollette passed away Monday, December 19, 2011 at LaFollette Medical Center. She was a member of Indiana Avenue Baptist Church. Preceded in death by grandson, Patrick Goins, her parents, Barney and Rosie Riggs Carroll, sisters, Mary Gibson, Susie Mefford, and Jean McFarland, brothers, Barney Carroll, Jr., and Everett “Eb” Carroll.

Survivors: Daughter, Connie Young of LaFollette; Son, Herbie Hunley of LaFollette; Grandchildren, Toshia Goins, Nikki Grant, Eric Goins, Daniel Goins, and Shawn Goins, all of LaFollette; Several Great-grandchildren, One Great-great-grandchild; Sisters, Betty Jane Wilson, Minnie Carroll, Aggie Carroll, and Cloretta Carroll, all of LaFollette; Brother, Jessie Carroll of Georgia; Special Friend, Verda Suttles of LaFollette.
