Loretta (Madge) Stooksbury, 86, of LaFollette, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Mercy Hospital North in Knoxville, TN. Loretta grew up in the Cedar Creek area of Campbell County and lived in Jacksboro, TN, from 1963 until the fall of 2008 when she moved to LaFollette Court Assisted Living Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Avery Roach and Martha (Doolie) Gray Roach, sister Mary Hopper, beloved son, Edward L. Stooksbury and her former husband and life-long friend, Earl Stooksbury.
She is survived by her son, Gary L. Stooksbury, of Knoxville, TN, sister Ruth Roach of LaFollette, beloved grandchildren, Brandon Stooksbury and wife, Lara of Las Vegas, NV, Sara Stooksbury of Clinton, TN, and Erin Stooksbury of LaFollette, daughter-in-law Suzanne Stooksbury of LaFollette, and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will celebrate her life on Monday, March 14, from 7 to 8 P.M. followed by a brief eulogy delivered by a very special friend to the Stooksbury family, Bobby Snodderly. There will be a private visitation from 6:30 to 7 P.M. for immediate family. Family and friends will meet Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at 11 A.M. at Campbell Memorial Gardens for graveside services and interment.
