Lillian “Jeanette” Lee

Lillian “Jeanette” Lee, age 83 of LaFollette departed this life Sunday, July 26, 2020. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Jeanette enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved attending church at House of Prayer and Praise where she was a member for many years. She also enjoyed reading her bible and her Christian books.

She is preceded in death by husband, Donald Ray Lee; son, David Wayne Lee; daughter Kathy Lynn Morrison; brothers, Jim, Earl, and Jack Short; sister, Janice Short.

She is survived by daughters, Donna Rae Snyder & husband Jeff of Jacksboro, Patricia Ellen Lee of LaFollette, Janice Sue Hicks & husband Danny of LaFollette; brother, Rick Short of California; sisters, Jeanelle Roberts of West Virginia, Linda Roberts of West Virginia, and Faye Thornsbury of LaFollette; grandchildren, Brandon Lee & wife Krystal, Mikayla Collier & husband Tyler, Tara and Rachel Snyder, Nichole Gravely & husband Larry, Shaun Morrison & wife Melanie, Aaron Lee, Donald Lee, and Darrel Lee; great grandchildren, Emily and Jacob Gravely, Amelia and Gabriel Collier, and Kylie Morrison.

Friends and family will meet 11 AM Friday, July 31st at Woodlawn Cemetery for graveside service with Rev. Mike Franklin officiating.

Derrick Wayne Wilhoit

Derrick Wayne Wilhoit, age 27, of Jacksboro departed this life on Thursday July 23, 2020. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend that enjoyed spending time with his family, going fishing, playing guitar and talking about race cars.

Survived by father, Gerald Wayne Wilhoit and stepmother Jamie Wilhoit, mother, Jennifer Roddy and stepfather, Luther Roddy, brother, Brandon Hatmaker and wife Chelsie, stepbrothers, Blake Elkins, Brandon Elkins and Brett Elkins all of LaFollette, sisters, Ashley Roddy of Caryville, Tori Wilhoit of LaFollette, Whitney Brewer and husband Eric of Ohio, nieces Kallie and Paisley Hatmaker, Adley Pearson, Abigail Brewer, nephews, Jacob Pearson, Eric Brewer, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 pm Friday July 31, 2020 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 8:00. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 am on Saturday August 1, 2020 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home and go in procession to Chadwell cemetery in LaFollette for a 11:00 am interment.

Georgia K. Siler

Mrs. Georgia K. Siler, age 90 of the Habersham Community passed away Friday, July 24, 2020. She was a member of Habersham Baptist Church. Mrs. Georgia served as a Teacher Assistant at Wynn-Habersham School for many years. She loved her family and friends, quilting, and was an election official at Wynn-Habersham precinct for many years. Preceded in death by Husband, James Ernest Siler, Parents, Floyd and Myrtle Ayers Kidwell, Sister, Jewell Crutchfield Bonetti.

Survivors: Children, Mata Jo Douglas and husband, Clyde Eddie and Ernest Lee Siler and wife, Debbie; Grandchildren, Michael Douglas (Amy Danner), James Douglas and wife, Hasu, Tony Siler, Jason Siler and wife, Saskia, and Bradley Siler; Great-Grandchildren, Chase Douglas, Annie Douglas, Jimmy Douglas, Joshua Douglas, and Olivia Douglas, Logan Siler and Austin Siler, Garett Maples, and Levi Maples; Nieces and Nephews, Mavis Weger, Jon Siler, Brenda Martin, Phillip Siler, Susie Siler Caddell; Her Church Family and Friends. Several other relatives.

Funeral Services Tuesday, July 28, 2020, 4:00 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Bullock and Rev. Jim Bo Bolton officiating. Interment to follow at Powell Valley Cemetery & Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 P.M. Tuesday before funeral services. Ralph David Ausmus

Ralph David Ausmus, age 79, of Caryville passed away on Saturday July 25,2020.
He was born on January 24,1941 in LaFollette, TN. David was a retired brick mason of 40 years. A dedicated husband and father, US Army Veteran that enjoyed watching college sports and drag racing. He had a very kind heart and quick wit and will be dearly missed by all that loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ralph & Madie Goins Ausmus.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Juanita Vann Ausmus and two sons and daughter in laws, Dwight & Becky Ausmus and Aaron & Misty Ausmus, grandsons Dakota Heck, Max Ausmus & Bo Ausmus, great grandchildren Berkley & Blakely Heck.

Given current pandemic and the family’s concern for the health and well-being of others friends may call at their convenience from 11 AM to 4 PM Monday at Cross-Smith Funeral Home.

Family and friends will meet 9:30 AM Tuesday, July 28 at Cross-Smith Funeral Home and proceed to Fincastle Cemetery for a 10 AM Graveside Service and Interment Rev. Dakota Heck Officiating

Jeffery Layne Kindred

Jeffery Layne Kindred, age 55, of La Follette passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020. He was of the Baptist Faith.

Jeffery was preceded in death by mother Barbara Johnson Kindred, his mammaw Lois Johnson and Papaw, Johnny Johnson.

Survived by mother of his children, Trecia Kindred of La Follette, son, Jeffery Lane Kindred, II, of La Follette, daughter Amber Jade Kindred of La Follette, brothers Tim Kindred of Maryville, Tennessee, and Mark Kindred of Tennessee, sister Karen Smith and husband Barry of Virginia, grandchild, Jeffery Stephen Kindred of Florida.

A Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, July 29, 2020, from 11 am until noon in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home followed by words of encouragement with Rev. Sampson Ridenour.
