Rev. Emerson Doyle Sweat, age 84, of LaFollette went home to be with his heavenly father Thursday, October 6, 2011 at UT Medical Center Knoxville. Member of Fordtown Baptist Church, but had recently attended Forks Grove Baptist Church. He preached God’s word for 31 years and was a true servant of the Lord. He pastored at Murrayville Baptist Church and Fordtown Baptist Church, He loved preaching and singing and had a broadcast, Back to the Bible for 39 years, still going on WLAF. He was a retired carpenter and electrician. Preceded in death by son, Melvin Sweat; parents, Charlie & Naomi Campbell Sweat.

Mary Belle White Goins, age 85, of LaFollette passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at UT Medical Center in Knoxville. Member of Coolidge First Baptist Church, but had attended Calvary Baptist Church for many years. She had a special talent for painting and a great love for music and children. Retired as Plant Manager’s Secretary from Imperial Reading after 47 years. Preceded in death by husband, Henry Clayton Goins; parents, Horace M. & Laura Craig White; sister, Marcelle White Tackett

Mrs. Betty L. Lindsay age 82 of LaFollette passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Tennova LaFollette Health and Rehab Center. She was a member of Indiana Avenue Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Franklin A. Lindsay, mother, Mary Irwin, father, Charles Heatherly, sister and brother-in-law, Azilea and Shirley Cordell, and brother-in-law, Paul Webb.

Survivors: Daughters, Rebecca Pitner and husband Harold, of Seymour, TN, Daughter, Linda Carson and husband Steve, of LaFollette; Grandchildren, Amy Murrell and husband Eric, of Apison, TN, Anna Robinette and husband John, of Seymour, TN, Kevin Wright, and wife Anya, of LaFollette, and Kasey McGhee and husband Jonathan, of Woodbury, TN; Great Grandchildren, Jessica and Nathan Murrell, Jake and Claire Robinette, Ben McGhee, and Brody Wright; Sisters, Lois Carroll and husband Fred, of LaFollette, and Levona Webb of Rockford, TN; Sister-in-law, Irene Lindsay of LaFollette. Funeral Services Thursday 5 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Corey Carroll and Rev. Mark Partin officiating. Interment to follow at Bakers Forge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 P.M. Thursday before services at Walters Funeral Home.
