Larry Kay McGinness, age 68, of LaFollette passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2011. He was the ultimate jack-of-all trades who could fix anything. He enjoyed fishing, playing with his grandchildren, and was a very devoted family man.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother Ivan Victor and Marie Hicks McGinness, son Larry Wayne McGinness, and sisters Sheila Reynolds, Cathy McGinness, and Judith McGinness.

He is survived by his wife Marjorie McGinness of LaFollette, daughters Susan Cook and husband Theodore and Vickie Egan and husband Robert all of Indiana, brothers Jerry McGinness and James “Brad” McGinness both of Indiana, sister Irma Thomson of Florida, 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, several nieces & nephews, a host of other relatives and friends, and special friends Orville Hoskins and Don & Vikki Pointer of Indiana.

Funeral service will be at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2011 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev George Asbury officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2011 in the Bakers Forge Cemetery. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Juanita Shultz, age 70, of Caryville passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2011. She was a very loving wife of 39 years, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was a mother and a friend to all she met. She enjoyed attending church when she was able and sports events of all kinds, especially basketball. She loved her job and the ones that she worked with.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother Charlie & Callie Harrison Rutherford, daughter Patsy Brock, brothers Jack Rutherford and Elbert Henry Rutherford, and sisters Susie Rogers and Jerri Rogers.

She is survived by her husband Josh Shultz of Caryville, son Charles Rutherford of Caryville, daughters Debbie Foust and husband Jerry of Caryville and Mary Beth and husband Richard Loudin of Clinton, brothers Elmer “Chun” Rutherford of Caryville, James Rutherford of Caryville, and Joe Rutherford of Philadelphia, TN, 11 grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2011 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev Jerry Foust and Rev Don Allen officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2011 in the Harness Cemetery. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

John L. Alred, age 74, of LaFollette went home to the Lord, Friday, October 7, 2011.
He was the proprietor of Whitman Hollow Boat Dock for 19 years and was a friend to everyone. A kind man who thought of others before thinking of himself and will always be remembered as a great husband, wonderful father and a loyal friend.
Preceded in death by his parents, H. T & Nell Alred; brothers, Eugene, Ray and Kyle Alred.

Survivors:

Daughters: Sabrina, Rhonda, Renee, and Cindy

Sons: Mike, Johnny, Bruce and David

Grandchildren: Michael, Krista, Wayne, Angela, Veronica, Anthony, Gabrielle, Samantha, Sierra, Hunter, Brooke, and Josephine.
