Sam Carroll

Sam Carroll age 85 of Lafollette passed away Monday, January 24, 2011 at the St. Mary’s Medical Center in Campbell Co. He was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church. He retired from Lafollette Utilities after 31 years and was a 50 year member of the Campbell Co. Masonic Lodge 778 F&AM, member of the grand lodge the free and accepted masons of TN. He was raised a master mason 3/26/55, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a Shriner of Knoxville. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, the lakes, outdoors, yard work, and most of all his garden. He loved to be with his grandchildren and family. He was a veteran of World War II having received several ribbons including EAME service metals with 2 bronze service stars, American theatre service metal, good conduct metal, and World War II victory metal.

Preceded in death by Parents: Shird and Oma Hubbard Carroll, Brother: Shan Carroll, Sister: Ruby Leach.

Survived by Wife: Betty Carroll of Lafollette, Sons: Martin Byrd and Wife: Melissa of Powell, Timothy Carroll and Wife Jennifer of Lafollette, Daughters: Bridgette Byrd, Rose Michelle Whitaker and Husband: Jeff, Sharon Sebrina North and Husband: Rodney all of Powell, Grandchildren: Cassidy, Luke, Eric, Austin, Alexis, Russell, Sabrina, and Brandon. Brother: Fred Carroll and Wife: Lois of Lafollette, Sister: Mabel Ridenour of Aiken, SC. Several nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

Masonic service will be 7:45 PM and funeral service will follow at 8 PM Wednesday, January 26th at Cedar Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Arnold officiating. Interment will be 1 PM Thursday in Campbell Memorial Gardens with the Campbell Co. Honor Guard in charge of graveside service. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:45 at Cedar Hill Baptist Church.

William Harvey Parker

William Harvey Parker, age 102 passed away Monday, January 24, 2011. He was a member of Alder Springs Baptist Church. William was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed woodworking, farming and beekeeping.

Preceded in death by Wife: Wanda White Parker. Sons: Martin and Lowell Parker. Grandson: Robert Parker. Brothers: Ernest, Leonard, Elisha and Hubert Parker. Sister: Rosie Parker Bruce.

Survived by Daughters in Law: Donna Parker of Jacksboro and Beulah Parker of Lafollette. 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Funeral Service will be 8 PM Thursday, January 27, 2011 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Steve Elkins officiating. Interment will be 11 AM Friday in Bakers Forge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday night before funeral service.

Ella Faye Wilson

Ella Faye Wilson, age 59 of Jacksboro is rejoicing in her eternal home as of January

21, 2011.  Faye was a very loving mother, wife and grandmother who enjoyed visiting with her family especially her grandchildren.  Her strength, faith, humor, soft spokeness and lovely smile will be missed.  She leaves her hand print with every person with whom she had contact, she also enjoyed listening to preaching and gospel music.

Preceded in death by: Parents, William and Mary Blissard Stagnolia Sr. Brother, James Stagnolia.  Sisters, Betty Sutton, Virginia Goins, Tennessee Smith, Patricia Nelson and 2 infant sisters.

Survived by: Husband, Hobert Wilson of Jacksboro.  Daughters, Robyn Wilson Glandon of Jacksboro, Angela Wilson of Jacksboro and Stephanie Wilson Pierce and husband Terry of LaFollette.  Brothers: William Stagnolia Jr. of Indiana and  Fred Stagnolia of Jacksboro.  Sisters, Bessie Williams, Rosie Abney and Eva Thomas all of Indiana.  Grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Joshua and Madison.  Several other friends and relatives.

Funeral service will be 8 PM Monday January 24, 2011 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Leroy Braden and Rev. Joey Rutherford officiating.  Interment will be 11 AM Tuesday in Flat Hollow cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM before the funeral service.

Raymond Marlow

Raymond Marlow, age 82 of Jacksboro passed away Friday, January 21, 2011 at the Summit View Nursing Home in Lake City. He was a member of P.E.R.S. Retirement Board. Raymond enjoyed fishing and working on his car and he loved his family very much.

Preceded in death by First Wife: Costine Marlow. Parents: Rosie and Calvin Marlow. Daughter: Nancy Hamilton. Step Daughter: Diana Williams.

Survived by Loving Wife: Alice Faye Byrd Marlow. Daughters and Sons in Law: Linda and Wayne King and Kathy and Jim Brown. Stepdaughter: Charlene Lawson. Stepson: Kenneth R. Chadwell. 10 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren. Sisters: Hazel Byrd, Nadine Elkins, Christine Goins and Betty Trammell. Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Margie “Granny” Everhart

Margie Everhart, age 93, of Rogersville, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, January 19, 2011, at Signature Health Care of Rogersville.
She was affectionately known as “Granny” to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, A. D. Everhart; father, Tom Walker, mother, Rose Walker; step-mother, who raised her, Cordie Walker; sisters, Mary Arnold, Cynthia Walker, Myrtle Walker; brothers, L. C. Walker, Arthur Walker, J. A. Walker, Fred Walker, Jr.; son-in-law, Frank Leake.
She is survived by her daughters, Charmie Bewley and husband Bob, Ulva Ann Leake; grandchildren, Teresa and Keith Seals, Tina and Dale Crownover all of Surgoinsville, Tim and Amy Knight of Jacksboro; Troy and Danielle Knight of Bluff City, Keith and Betsy Carpenter of South Carolina, Scott Bewley, Tony and Christina Knight all of Rogersville; great-grandchildren, Ian and wife Amber Seals, Jessica Seals, Jacob Seals, Brian Knight, Keith Crownover, Kayla Knight, Emily Knight, Seth Knight, Kalista Knight, Michael Knight, Tori Knight, Jade Carpenter, Amanda Morelock, Jason Morelock; three great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild to arrive any day; brother, Lawrence Walker of Morristown; sister, Pynthia and Eugene Spears of Rogersville; several nieces and nephews.
