Jane Goins Sweat Baldwin, age 60 of LaFollette passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Campbell County. She was of the Church of God Faith. Preceded in death by parents, Everett and Ida Rutherford Goins, and brother, Jim Goins.

Survivors: Son, Travis Sweat and fiancé, Tracy Bean of Cumberland Gap, TN; grandchildren, Jonaya Broyles and Mary Broyles of LaFollette and Shelby Taylor of Cumberland Gap; sisters, Janice Bolton and husband, Ovid of LaFollette, Dorothy Robinson and husband, Joe T. of Winchester, TN, and Lois Faye Bourff of LaFollette; brothers, Rev. Charles Jack Goins and wife, Barbara of Speedwell, Steve Goins and wife, Lorine of Jacksboro, John Goins and wife, Sylvia of Knoxville, and Greg Goins of Powell. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services Tuesday 8 P.M. at Walters Chapel with Rev. Ovid Bolton officiating. Family and friends will meet at Walters Funeral Home on Wednesday at 9:30 A.M. and proceed to Well Springs Cemetery for 10 A.M. graveside service and interment. Randall A. Cook, 63, formerly of Washington, IL passed away Monday, May 23, 2011 at home in LaFollette, TN.

Randy was born July 17, 1947 in Pekin to Richard and Eleanor (Mitchell) Cook. He married Connie S. Carter on December 28, 1975 in Washington. She survives along with his sons, Todd M. Cook of East Peoria and Ryan N. Cook of Frisco, Colorado and his daughter, Jennifer L. Cook of Portland, Oregon. He is also survived by his sister, Janet Kaiser of Peoria and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Randy worked in the Peoria area before retiring from PJS Publications as art director after 23 years of service.

Randy was an incredible musician, artist, and gun aficionado. He grew up in a musical family. In his early teens, he began playing rhythm guitar with his parents and grandfather in a square dance band. Later he joined The Originals, playing Rock ‘n’ Roll hits of the time. He continued to advance his musical style and performed with several bands in the local area including Bill Hardesty’s band, the Don Nelson Trio, and was front man for Flushwater Creek and finally Flashback. Randy was not only an outstanding guitarist, he was equally at home on the keyboard, bass and behind the drums. Randy enjoyed writing and recording original music, playing all the instruments on his recordings.

Randy never met a stranger. He enjoyed life, family and friends to the fullest. He was a humble gentleman and genuine conversationalist, easily engaging new and old friends alike. He was an amazing husband and father who loved to travel but was most at home sitting on the front porch strumming his six string.

Mrs. Kathy Bolton Evans age 58 of Stinking Creek Community, LaFollette passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Jellico Community Hospital. Preceded in death by her husband, Dewey “Buddy” Evans, son, Dewey Randalee Evans, parents, Birdie and Phoebe Baird Bolton, sister, Martha Aileen White.

Survivors: Daughter, Shannon Johnson and husband Daron, of LaFollette; Sister, Betty June Ayers of LaFollette; Brothers, Bill Bolton of Andersonville, TN, Paris Bolton of Carlisle, OH; Special Friend, Bill Sutton of Speedwell. Several other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services Saturday 1 P.M. at Stanfield Church of God with Rev. Delmus Bruce and Rev. Pat Ayers officiating. Interment to follow at Hall Cemetery. Mr. James Clifford Horne, Jr. age 35 of Caryville passed away Monday, May 23, 2011, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Campbell County. He was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by grandfather, James C. Horne, Sr.

Survivors: Wife, Tasha; son, Zachary and daughter, McKayla; father, James C. Horne, Sr. of Jacksboro, mother, Brenda Chapman of Caryville; brother, Billy Joe Horne of Knoxville; sister, Misty Murray of Jacksboro; 3 step-sisters, Christina Brooks of Oneida, Heaven Hill and Mary McKinney both of LaFollette; grandparents, Margie White and Charlotte Housley both of LaFollette. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Kelly Marcum, age 40, of Jacksboro passed away Monday, May 23, 2011 at St. Mary’s Campbell County. Preceded in death by grandparents, Jim & Jewell Kesterson and James O. & Edna Marcum.
