John Raymond Smith

John Raymond Smith, age 96 of Jacksboro passed away Sunday, August 18, 2019. He loved spending time with his loving wife, Pearl and his dog, Charlie. He also loved reading, studying the Bible, and listening to gospel music. John belonged to the Church of God.

He is preceded in death by 2 sons, Jessie James Smith and John Raymond Smith.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Pearl Smith, special daughter, Judy Wilson & husband Bill Shannon Wilson, daughters Patricia Smith, Lisa Smith, and Sylvia Carroll & husband Bill, special son Leonard Smith, sons Larry Smith & wife Elaine, and Raymond Smith, granddaughter Trisha Bryant & husband Danny, grandsons Skylar Smith and Bill Carroll, Jr., special grandson Shannon Sims & wife Cindy, special great grandson Tyler Sims, special granddaughter Cristina “Sissy” Kennedy, great grandsons Carson Smith, Tyson Odell, and great granddaughter Paige Smith.

A special thanks to Oddetta Malicoat for helping with his care.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 21, 2019 from 5-7 PM followed by funeral service at 7 PM in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Tex Ramsey officiating. Friends and family will meet 11 AM Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Smith Family Cemetery in Jacksboro for interment.

Sherry Renee Reed

Sherry Renee Reed, age 58, of Dutch Valley Road, Clinton, Tn, passed away at 2:25 pm on August 15, 2019.

She is survived by her loved ones; her husband Donald E. Reed of Knoxville, her children Terry D. Herrell of Clinton, Misty D. Herrell of Clinton, Kristina G. Herrell of Clinton and Samantha A. Burton of Scottsburg, IN, her mother Shirley J. Phillips of Clinton, her sister Melissa C. Kemp and husband Robert Kemp of Clinton, brothers Sam S. Phillips and wife Victoria L. Phillips of Clinton, Charles J. Phillips of Oak Ridge, her grandchildren; Dustin N. Shadrick and wife Julie Shadrick of LaFollette, Michael A. Lloyd of Clinton, Mason A. Herrell of Clinton, Destinee C. Lowe of Clinton, Zoe F. Lowe of Clinton, Maleia H. Payne of Clinton, Chloe A. Herrell of Clinton, Alexis M. Hackworth of Clinton, Bentley A. Herrell of Clinton, Amy R. Visitation for Sherry will be 11:00- 12:00 pm on Monday August 19, 2019, at First Dutch Valley Baptist Church, funeral service at 12:00 with Rev. Jeff Parrott and Gene Roach officiating. Interment will follow in First Dutch Valley Baptist Church cemetery.

Billy Frank Maiden

Mr. Billy Frank Maiden age 81 of LaFollette passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2019. He attended Cedar Hill Baptist Church, was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, and was an avid golfer, even having his first hole-in-one at age 72. Billy loved fishing and the Atlanta Braves, but most importantly, he instilled a great love of family to his Children, Grandchildren, and Great-Grandchildren. Preceded in death by Parents, Ernest and Freida Barker Maiden.

Survivors: Wife, Mrs. Georgia Thomas Maiden; Children, Teresa Marlow and Husband, George; David Maiden and Wife, Tonya; and Sandy Gaylor and Husband, George; Grandchildren, Daniel Marlow and Wife, Erin, Anthony Maiden and Wife, Lindsey, Cody Gaylor and Wife, Ashton, Clay Gaylor, and Shelby Maiden; Great-Grandchildren, Bella, Noah, Berrett, Channing, Teagan, and Cayson; Brother, Theodore “Ted” Maiden and Wife, Judy; Two Nephews, and many extended family members.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday at 3:00 P.M. at Campbell Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ronnie Arnold officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Campbell County Honor Guard. Gary Wayne Monday, Sr.

Gary Wayne Monday, Sr., age 57 of LaFollette passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2019. He was of the Baptist faith. Gary enjoyed working on his cars and spending time with his grandkids.

He is preceded in death by father R.L. Monday and brother Ricky Monday.

He is survived by mother Brenda Monday, daughter Angel Wilson & husband Jason, sons Gary Monday, Jr., Jason Monday, and Jessie Monday, all of LaFollette. Brother Danny Monday, sisters Rhonda Bradley and Deloris Steakley, all of LaFollette. 7 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 10 AM to 12 PM followed by funeral service at 12 PM in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Following service, friends and family will go in procession to Marlow Cemetery in Speedwell for interment.

Roger “Rod” Smith

Mr. Roger “Rod” Smith age 80 of Speedwell passed away Monday, August 12, 2019. He was an Elder and Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and along with his Wife, served a Mission in Vernon, UT. Mr. Smith was retired from General Motors, and after retirement, served as a Claiborne County Sherriff’s Deputy. He was also a self-taught guitar player and singer. Preceded in death by Son, Gary Smith, Parents, William G. and Cora Ann Van Bebber Smith, Sisters and Brothers, Ruth, Opal, Flossie, Lonnie, Frank, Bill, Doyle, James, and Ralph.

Survivors; Wife, Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth “Chris” Smith; Daughter, Karen Manier and Husband, Charles, Jr.; Daughter-in-law, Cheryl Smith; Five Grandchildren, Three Great-grandchildren; Brother, Roy Gene Smith and Wife, Blanche; Sister, Wilma Muggridge and Husband, Gene; Special Sister-in-law and Second Mother, Kathleen “Kate” Smith; Several Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Smith’s Grandson, Dustin Garrette Manier and Fiance’, Gabrielle Davies will be getting Married and what was to be his Grandparents 60th Wedding Anniversary in October.

Funeral Services Friday 11:00 A.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Gary Williams, Elder Russell Figueira, and Elder Joe Pritchard officiating.
