Richard “Rick” Johnson

Mr. Richard “Rick” Johnson, age 61 of LaFollette, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019, at his home. He is preceded in death by Mother, Pauline Kitts Johnson, and Brother, Ronnie Johnson.

Survivors: Significant Other, Donna Housley who had the privilege of his love for many years; Son, Dustin Johnson; Father, Willis Johnson who Rick said numerous times that he was the greatest man he had ever known; Sister, Patricia Johnson; Brothers, Jerry Johnson and sweet little buddy, Mike Johnson; and many other relatives and friends who his love for them was unwavering .

Family and friends will meet Wednesday, September 4, 2019, 10:00 A.M. at Kitts Cemetery for Graveside Services and Interment. Online condolences for Mr. Johnson may be made at Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Richard “Rick” Johnson.

Anthony Allen Sharp

Anthony Allen Sharp, age 68 of Caryville, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2019 at his residence. He was born on June 10, 1951 to the late Buford Burnell and Vivian Eunice Gross Sharp in Knoxville. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Vietnam War. He loved music, reading books and studying new topics. He also enjoyed attending church when he was able and was a member of Lake City United Methodist. He had a special friendship with the former pastor, Rev. Andrew Henry. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Darlene Sharp; and several other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Rocky Top on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 from 5-7pm. Graveside services will be private.

Elmer “Junior” Harding

Elmer “Junior” Harding, age 56 of LaFollette went home to be with the Lord Thursday, August 29, 2019. He was a member of Clinch River Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. Junior also loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing, and hunting.

He is preceded in death by father Elmer Harding, brothers Dennis and Scottie Harding. He is survived by wife Karen Harding of LaFollette, mother Mildred (Lay) Harding Bolton of LaFollette, children Eric Harding & wife Dana of Clinton, Joshua Harding & wife Alisha of LaFollette, Ashley Harding Chase & husband Adrian of Nevada, Matthew Harding & wife Kendra of Clinton, sisters Dinah Richardson &; husband Leigh of LaFollette, Teresa Brock of Jacksboro, 7 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and host of other relatives.

Family will receive friends 6-8 PM Saturday, August 31, 2019 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home followed by funeral service at 8 PM with Rev. Roscoe Lindsay officiating. Friends and family will meet 11 AM Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Allred Cemetery for interment. Ira Salemo

Ira Salemo, age 72 of Caryville, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2019. He grew up in New Jersey, then served in the U.S. Army from the age of 18 until he retired from the U.S. Army Reserves. Ira loved truck driving. He took pride in graduating from Roane State Community College with a degree in Business Management at the age of 53.

Ira is survived by his wife, Leslie DePew, Delta and her husband Joe, Buddy, Felicia, Jessica, grandchildren, and his sisters.

Graveside services will take place on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at 9:30am with full military honors presented by the Campbell County Honor Guard.

Arletta Hickman

Arletta Hickman, age 89 of LaFollette, went home to be with Lord on Friday, August 30th, 2019. Arletta enjoyed reading and attending Antioch Baptist Church in Clinton, TN. She was of the Baptist Faith and accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at an early age, and rededicated her life back to Lord at age 81.

Arletta is preceded in death by husband Robert Hickman; parents, John and Ethel (Smith) Mozingo; daughter Brenda Faye Wilhoit; brother Curt Mozingo; sisters Blanche Polson and Lucille Robbins; granddaughter Terri Hickman.

She is survived by sons Robert Bruce Hickman of LaFollette, Michael Hickman and wife Vanessia of LaFollette, Danny Hickman of Knoxville, and Donnie Hickman of Caryville; daughters Carolyn Wilkerson of Clinton and Vickie Morgan of LaFollette; brother John Hogan Mozingo of Ringo, Ga; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, September 4th, 2019 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home, with funeral service to follow at 8 PM with Rev. Bo Freeman officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:30 AM on Thursday, September 5th, 2019 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home to go in funeral procession to Sunrise Cemetery for a 10 AM internment.
