Valerie Lynn Grant

Valerie Lynn Grant, age 64 of Ocklawaha, Florida passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019 at LaFollette Medical Center. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Ocklawaha Baptist Church. Valerie served her country in the United States Air Force and retired as a Staff Sergeant. She is preceded in death by father Ronald Shoemaker and infant daughter Yumiko Lee Anne Grant. She is survived by husband of 37 years Randy Grant, son Christopher Grant, and mother Betty (Parrish) Shoemaker, all of Ocklawaha, Florida. Brothers Ronald Shoemaker & wife Lisa of Florida, Wesley Shoemaker of Ocklawaha, Florida, sister Cheryl Thompson & husband Karl of Seminole, Florida, several nieces, nephews, & a host other relatives and friends. Memorial service for Valerie will be 12 PM Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Bakers Forge Cemetery with military honors by Campbell County Honor Guard. Matthew L. Hatmaker, 54 of LaFollette, passed away Sunday, July 28th at home after a long health battle. Preceded in death by grandparents Harley (Red) & Zadie (Hicks) Hatmaker, and Estel & Nanny (King) Kennedy; Father in-law, Bill McNeil; Grandparent in-laws, Homer & Mildred Norman.

Janice Sweat

Janice Sweat, age 71, of Jacksboro passed away Saturday, July 27, 2019. She was a member of Cumberland View Baptist Church. Janice was a former teacher and principal at Jacksboro Elementary School for many years. She loved bluegrass music, her miniature donkeys, and her family and friends; especially her great nephew, Cody, who was the light of her life.
