CCHS Seniors were police escorted today to take one last formal walk through their former elementary school dressed in their cap and gowns. CCHS teacher Monica Bane who assisted in the transportation and organization of the walk wrote in a social media post, “I want to thank each school that hosted the CCHS Seniors for the Graduation Walk today. I can’t express how special this was for the students to go back to their schools. Lots of great memories. Bittersweet for many. We had a lot of cheers and tears. This is an event that makes everything educators do worth it. I love my job!!!” Bane also messaged the Times that it was a rewarding experience and they enjoyed watching the students completed a full circle in the path of their education. Bane expressed she saw a lot of tears today but they were happy tears. The Volunteer Times sends congratulations to the class of 2017.
