We recently learned that a quartet of Cougar Basketball players earned All-District honors. Now their head coach has earned quite the honor of his own. New Cougar Head Coach Ernie Mac Clawson has picked up Co-District Coach of the Year honors. He shares the honor with The Clinton Dragon’s Head Coach Chris Lockard.

In just his first year as in the head coaching role Clawson, along with his younger brother and assistant coach Brandon Clawson, has led the Cougars to one of their best seasons in years. The Cougars are now poised to begin post season play with a fourth seed, first round bye, and home game in the 2021 district tournament.

Cougar Athletic Director Ryan Browning had this to say about the Clawsons, “We are extremely proud of Ernie and Brandon. They have brought a uplifting attitude to our boys and it has the entire program headed in the right direction. They are fair and hold their players accountable on and off the court. We are blessed to have Ernie as our boys basketball coach.”
