The Cougars managed to get back on the winning track Friday night as the Hurricanes of Morristown East blew into town. Coach Dewayne Wells made his return to the field he played and coached on to battle his alma mater. But the Hurricanes just did not have enough wind to blow down the Cougars and returned to Hamblin County with a loss.
The Cougars defeated the Hurricanes 35-13.
Landon Addington had an excellent night going 36-of-47 passing for 433 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Addington targeted Devlin Dukes seven times for 149 yards on the ground. Dukes came up just short of the endzone unfortunately.
Christian Shouse had the longest reception of the evening as he hauled in a pass from Addington and took it 84 yards down the field for a touchdown.
Shouse and Drew Jordan also had ground touchdowns.
The Cougars move to 2-2 on the season. The travel to Knox County this Friday to take on the Gibbs Eagles.
