Though football season is a lingering memory and basketball is hitting the home stretch it is time for some more action on the gridiron. The 2019 Border Bowl is taking place Saturday with the Tennessee All Stars battling the Georgia All Stars in Sevier County. There will also be a game between the Kentucky All Stars and the North Carolina All Stars.

This year’s Tennessee team with have a distinctly Cougar flavor to it as offensive lineman Zach Phillips will be plying his skills in the trenches and Justin and Matt Price will be part of the team’s coaching staff. Phillips will be in familiar company as district rival Oak Ride, Fulton, and West will have players on the squad. In addition neighboring Anderson County will be sending Trey Noe and Ryan Moog to the event.

The games will take place at the home of the Smokey Bears, Sevier County High School. The opening contest of the event kicks off at 12:20 Saturday afternoon with the Kentucky v North Carolina game. Then at 3:30 the Tennessee v Georgia game is set to kick off.

Tickets are $10 with children aged 10 or younger will get in for free.
