In October of 2019 a federal drug sting went down. One of the men arrested was Billy Hoag Davis of Jacksboro. Davis was one of eleven people charged. Davis was charged with a single count of conspiring to distribute and process with the intent to distribute a schedule II controlled substance (Cocaine) in the amount of .5 kilograms or more.
On Tuesday May 21, 2020 he entered a plea in lieu of a trial by a jury of his peers. His plea was to a lesser charge of intent to distribute a schedule II controlled substance (Cocaine) in the amount of less than .5 kilograms. this plea still carries a potentially hefty punishment of five to forty years in a federal penitentiary and a fine of up to five million dollars. He will receive his sentence at a later date.
