On January 28, 2021, Deputy Joseph Weaver was dispatched to Twin Cove Marina after receiving reports of a suspicious vehicle, described as a black Jeep. Deputy Weaver then made a contact with a vehicle matching the description at Murphy’s gas station in Lafollette after observing two green kayaks on top of the vehicle and various fishing poles inside the vehicle.

Deputy Weaver made contact with the driver, Megan Cross, who stated that she and her husband, Greg Phillips, had received a call from Bradley Phillips to pick him up at Twin Cove Marina. The couple went to Twin Cove Marina and assisted Bradley Phillips in loading the two kayaks and fishing poles onto her vehicle. After making contact with the owner of Twin Cove Marina, the owner confirmed the equipment was property of the marina and had been stolen.

All three individuals were placed under arrest. While searching Greg Phillips, Deputy Weaver also located approximately 0.25 grams of a white crystal substance, believed to be methamphetamine, in his jacket pocket.

Gregory Phillips is charged with Theft of Property over $1,000 and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance. Greg Phillips remains in jail with no bond pending a February 02, 2021 court date.

Bradley Phillips is charged with Theft of Property over $1,000 and remains in jail with no bond pending a February 02, 2021 court date.

Megan Cross is charged with Accessory After the Fact and was released on bond on January 29, 2021. Ms. Cross is also due on court on February 02, 2021.
