Geneva Lee (Brown) Elmore, 85, of Grapevine, Texas and formerly of LaFollette, TN, entered the presence of Jesus Tuesday, July 17, 2012

Geneva was born May 18, 1921 to Sam and Maude Brown. She married Ted Elmore March 1, 1947. She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister and husband.

Geneva was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by daughter Mary Lynn Cantrell of Elyria, OH and grandchildren Lauren Cantrell, Sophie Cantrell and Angela and Duane Meade III; and great-grandchildren Trevor Cantrell, Jordan and Duane Meade IV.

She is also survived by her son, Dr. Ted L. Elmore and his wife Cheryl, of Grapevine, Texas; grandchildren Beth Tomlinson, Karen and John Elmore, Sarah and Jon Burns, and Hannah Elmore; great-grandchildren Grace and Grant Tomlinson, Matthew, Andrew and Caroline Elmore, and Mack Burns.

Throughout her life, Geneva served others as a registered nurse, a volunteer at the Mid-Cities Crisis Pregnancy Center and as a bible study leader in her retirement home. She had the gift of music and played piano by ear. In her declining years, she surrounded herself with music exalting the Savior, pictures of family and loved ones, and reminders of her faith.

Graveside services and interment will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 3 at Laurel Land Funeral Home and Cemetery in Ft. Worth, Texas. Dr. Ted L. Elmore and Dr. James T. Draper, Jr. will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Mid-Cities Crisis Pregnancy Center, 1111 W. Airport Fwy., Ste. 229 Irving, Texas 75062.
