Governor Bill Lee’s latest executive order sets new guidelines for attendance of school sporting events. While the TSSAA already had rules in place requiring temperature checks, mask requirements, and social distancing guidelines this takes things a step further.
As long as executive order 70 is in effect bands, cheerleaders, and dance teams will not be permitted to attend games. This is meant to curtail crowds.
With this in place the people allowed to attend games are the athletes on the team, players’ parents or guardians along with immediate household members, first Responders, Coaches and team support staff, school, game, and facility administrators, athletics officials, and the media and athletic scouting personnel attending the event in a professional capacity.
This order is in effect until January 19th, 2021.
