Over the last month the LaFollette Police Department has received multiple reports in regard to storage unit burglaries. On 2/26/19 Detectives with LPD’s criminal investigation unit arrested Ricky Nugene Green (age 32) on a variety of charges including burglary, theft of property, shoplifting, possession of schedule IV drugs and criminal trespass related to these burglaries. Over the past two days Detectives have recovered 6 truckloads of stolen property including TV’s, pressure washers, generators, washers, dryers along with bedroom and living room furniture taken during the burglaries. Efforts are being made to return that property to owners as soon as possible. The property stolen from the storage facilities was scattered to several locations throughout the city and county. Items were recovered at locations in Glade Springs and on Old Long Hollow Road, Iron Street and East Central Avenue. The storage units involved in the incidents where Midway Storage, LaFollette Storage and the storage units on Myers Lane in LaFollette. LPD’s Detective Unit informed the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office of this arrest. They are currently investigating other storage unit burglaries from Volunteer Storage, where the same subject is believed to be involved.
