On December 9, 2019, Eighth Judicial District Criminal Court Judge E. Shayne Sexton sentenced Vernon Lee Ivey of LaFollette, TN to thirty-six (36) years to be served in the custody of the Tennessee Department of Correction. The sentence stemmed from Vernon Lee Ivey being convicted of two (2) counts Theft > $2500; two (2) counts of Burglary; four (4) counts of Theft < $1000; five (5) counts of Theft > $1000; one (1) count of Aggravated Burglary; one (1) count of Auto Burglary; and one (1) count of Theft over $10,000.

This case was a multi-incident matter and was investigated and prosecuted by the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, LaFollette Police Department, and the Jellico Police Department. The State was represented by Assistant District Attorney General Lindsey C. Cadle.
