Over the weekend tourism in Campbell County received a special honor at an event at the Gatlinburg Convention Center. The Welcome Center at the Campbell County/Kentucky border on I-75 was named Welcome Center of the Year. The Jellico based center is the front door to Tennessee by people traveling south on 75. This is the first time this center has received thus honor.

Rhine Cummins is the current director of this welcome center. When asked about the reward he was very humble in saying,”I have a very dedicated and hard working staff. It is a great honor to receive this award.”

The center is open to serve travelers 24 hours a day with rest room facilities, vending machines, and information about the area. It is staffed from 8 AM til 6 PM.
