The Cougar’s playoff path became much more clear as they picked up a big win over the Beavers of Karns by a score of 43-21. With this win and Powell having to forfeit their wins the Cougars only need to win one more game to be in the post season for a sixth consecutive year. Drew Jordan had a bravura performance against the Cougar’s district rival. The powerful running back set one record and tied two others behind the blocking of a line that Jordan refereed to as, “the best in East Tennessee.”

To see what records he set we have to go back in time over a decade. Chris Johnson rushed for 336 yards and five touchdowns against Union County in 2005. Anyone who has watched the high flying Justin Price offense probably thought these records were safe as the offense seems more pass oriented. But not this time. Jordan powered out 345 yards and five rushing touchdowns of his own against the Beavers. To put an exclamation point on his night Jordan also completed a two point conversion pass to Alex Gross. Jordan now shares the most touchdowns in a game with both Johnson and Bo Farris

The Landon Addington to Christian Shouse connection was also good for a touchdown on the evening.

Friday the Cougars with travel to Knoxville to take on Fulton in a game that could determine which team gets a home playoff game.
