Yesterday a call came in to central dispatch that there was a vehicle driving in reckless manner on I-75. At about the same time the car in question sped past Deputy Wayne Barton. Barton began pursuit but the car slammed into the back of a transfer truck and the driver fled on foot at the Stinking Creek exit.

At this point Deputy Travis Bostic and his K-9 partner Santo arrived. After tracking the suspect for roughly 1,000 yards he was found hiding under a rock by Santo.

The man was identified as William Riley, of 2031 Roosevelt Boulevard Middletown, OH. He was taken into custody and transported to Jellico Hospital for medical care due to injuries he sustained when he hit the truck.

Riley is now facing charges of leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report accident, no driver’s license, reckless driving and theft of property $10,000 – $59,999.
