Spring is in the air and that means softball is taking Arlis Chapman Field for another season on the diamond. The Lady Indians of Oneida made their way over from Scott County to battle the home standing Lady Cougars. Unfortunately the Lady Indians went back to Scott County with a 5-3 victory.

Though the winds of voctory did not blow the way of the Lady Cougars there was an huge bright spot for the future. Freshman short stop Cora Browning had quite the high school debut following a stand out middle school career. She had all three RBI’s for the Lady Cougars. Browning had an RBI single and a two RBI double in the contest.

Brenna Rutherford had a good day on the mound despite the loss. She recorded nine strike outs on the day.
