Last Friday, Lieutenant Travis Bostic and School Resource Officer Brian Osborn visited with students at Jacksboro Middle School to discuss the advancement of body armor. Students at JMS have been learning about the origins of body armor and their use during medieval times. To enhance their understanding, Lt. Bostic (who also serves as the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office SWAT commander) brought examples of body armor used by SWAT personnel and deputies in the field today.
“Our department loves to have interaction with the public, especially with our youth. It’s more important than ever for our youth to have positive experiences with law enforcement. I would like to thank the staff at JMS for thinking of the connection between their curriculum and law enforcement and allowing us the privilege to speak in their school. Lt. Bostic and Deputy Osborn are great ambassadors for our department and we appreciate all they do.”
