It was a bog weekend for local fishing. Local professional fisherman Brandon Card held his 3rd Annual College and High School Bass Open. Over 100 boats representing a plethora of high school and college fishing teams descended on Norris lake to fish the event. Despite the large field of competition it was a pair of local boats that picked up the wins. On the college level Cougar alumni and current Bethel University fisherman Seth Roberts and his partner Kyle Palmer took home first place on the college level. On the high school level current Cougar anglers Riley Faulkner and Austin Smith brought home first place.
While this was going on the middle school bass trail was having an event on a different part of Norris Lake. The event was held at Anderson County Park and saw Campbell County Middle School fisherman Gabe St. John and Mason Dople continued their winning ways and brought home a first as well.
