James Cox made a profound impact on the lives of people and animals in East Tennessee. Cox founded the Little Ponderosa Zoo that quickly became an animal rescue organization as well. The popular Clinton attraction now rescues exotic animals from across the United States and gives them a safe and loving environment to live in. The non-profit zoo is a destination for animal lovers, school field trips, birthday parties and so much more.
Sadly Cox passed away in early February. Now there is a public memorial service set to celebrate his life on February 13th. The memorial will be held between noon to 6 pm at the Little Ponderosa Zoo and Rescue located at 629 Granite Rd, Clinton.
In lieu of flowers, the zoo staff asks that you consider making a donation to the zoo instead to keep the work started by James Cox going.
