CCHS and Jellico Senior Walks rescheduled. CCHS Senior walk has been rescheduled to Wednesday, June 17th at 6pm to create a more celebratory week for Campbell Co Seniors. Jellico High School has rescheduled to Friday, June 5th at 6pm.

Jellico high school seniors will line up at the Assemblies of God Church parking area by 5:30pm the evening of June 5. They will begin their walk through the downtown area at 6pm. Seniors will end at the Veterans Park where each will be recognized by name as they walk across the stage. There will be parking reserved for parents in the downtown area beside Veterans Park.

With both high schools having set graduation dates as well as other senior activities, the senior walk for CCHS students will follow this timeline as to not create a lengthy time gap between events.

The Senior week for CCHS in June is currently scheduled as follows: CCHS will be having graduation practice Tuesday the 16th, the Senior walk through downtown Lafollette will now be Wednesday the 17th, CCHS senior awards night will be held Thursday the 18th. Jellico HS Graduation will fall on Friday the 19th and CCHS graduation Saturday the 20th.

With tickets limited to CCHS graduation due to current government restrictions, this walk may bring smiles those who could not attend graduation. They can safely view their seniors walk in cap and gown from their vehicles. If you are having to view by standing outside please wear masks and keep to the social distancing restrictions that are being requested by the Governor’s office at that current time.

A more agreeable facility has been offered and agreed-upon for the beginning lineup for CCHS students which will now be the LaFollette Methodist Church Parking area. We are asking all seniors to be dropped off and NOT drive (no parking available) to the Methodist Church building and to be there no later than 5 PM. Seniors will be given a name sign to carry and please have your cap and gown with you. Wear comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing for temperatures. Each graduate’s name will be called out over the PA during the walk downtown as they cross a designated mark.

After the seniors walk through downtown Lafollette they will top the hill and turn left on 9th Street which is where the LaFollette Library is located. We ask that they be picked up in the parking lot area behind the LaFollette Library as they can also access the stairs which lead up to the current recreation center parking area for additional pick up. This upper area is also known as the old West LaFollette school building. We do not want seniors walking back to the Methodist church location on their own to get back into a vehicle. This is why we are mandating they are dropped off at the church then have a car or ride waiting on them at the Recreation Center or library parking area.

Parents are encouraged to have signs or posters of encouragement or even decorate your cars. Businesses are also welcome throughout the downtown area to put forth your orange and blue spirit colors to represent this wonderful class of 2020. The event will be streamed live from the Volunteer Times.
