Trevor St. John has had a successful career fishing for the Cougar fishing team. Next year he will be fishing as a Lion. St. John has signed a scholarship to fish for Bryan College.
St. John chose Bryan because it felt like home. He also said that it was a good Christian based school and that it had a prominent fishing team. Last season Bryan finished 6th in the nation among all schools that field fishing teams. There are no divisions in college fishing and schools like Bryan compete against large schools including SEC schools. St. John plans to major in accounting.
Cougar Fishing Coach Gabe Keen, a Bryan College alumni, was prous as he spoke of St. John’s siging. “Trevor’s freshman year was my first year coaching the team. It’s awesome for us as a team. Trevor has always been a big part of this team. Bryan will be a good fit for Trevor. I’m happy for him,” said Keen.
Bryan’s head fishing coach should be very familiar to St. John. Mike Keen is the father of Cougar Coach Gabe Keen. The elder Keen spoke highly of his newest angler. “We’re excited to have a kid who can not just fish but has the strong chracter that Trevor has,” Keen said.
