In the early morning hours of Monday emergency personnel were called to the Travelodge at 276 John McGhee Blvd in Caryville.
A Caryville police officer put oout a fire that burned a 78 year old woman. She was airlifted by Lifestart to the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
The woman was a relative of the owner of the Travelodge.
Caryville Police, The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the Tennessee Fire Investigative Services are currently conducting an investigation.
Travelodge is currently listed as “permanently closed” on the internet.
