Deputy Dakota Williams was on a routine patrol when he saw a black S-10 Chevrolet cross the center lane multiple times on Old Middlesboro Highway. Deputy Williams decided to follow the vehicle to make sure that the erratic driving was not an isolated incident. He saw the vehicle cross the center lane a trio of other times and initiated a traffic stop.
During the stop Deputy Williams noticed an odor of what appeared to be marijuana. Deputy Williams asked for everyone to exit the vehicle and asked if there was anything illegal in the truck. After he was given consent to search the vehicle Deputy Williams found a variety of drug paraphernalia and the driver, Tyler James Cantrell, produced a baggie containing a green substance believed to be marijuana and a cigarette pack containing the end of a cigar with marijuana stuffed in it.
Williams placed Cantrell under arrest and transported him to the Campbell County Jail where he was charged with Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
