Two people were sent to the hospital this morning after being shot by a TWRA officer. The TWRA officer was turkey hunting on the North Cumberland WMA in Campbell County. The incident happened around 10 a.m.
The shooting took place near Norma around the Scott/Campbell county line. One victim was transported via ambulance to UT Medical Center and the other drove to the hospital on his own.
The injuries were not life threatening and both have been released. Because this was an officer involved shooting TWRA has turned the investigation over to the TBI.
