Kaylee Welch just wrapped up her career as a Cougar Cheerleader. But it will not be the final chapter in her cheer career. Welch recently traveled to Johnson City where she tried out to become a cheerleader for the East Tennessee State University Buccaneers.

Welch made the squad following in the footsteps of a number of Cougar Cheerleaders who traded their blue and orange for the blue and gold of ETSU. Welch plans to major in nursing at ETSU’s College of Nursing. The ETSU College of Nursing is a leader in nursing education at bachelor, masters and doctoral levels and nationally recognized for its nurse-managed health centers, rural focus, interdisciplinary programs, and community partnerships, according to the ETSU website.

Regarding her next step in cheer and education Welch said, “I am so excited to continue my cheer career at East Tennessee! Cara Beth along with everyone in Campbell county have supported and believe in me! I thank god for the ability to be able to cheer at a university. Go Bucs!”
