Robert Kennedy

Robert Kennedy, a loving husband and father, age 76 of Jacksboro, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 after a lengthy battle with health issues. He was born on June 17, 1944. Robert was an avid outdoorsman, that enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Easter holds a special meaning form Robert, as he recounts Easter morning, years ago when he became a member of the family of God. In his younger years this led to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with co-workers and friends. Later years found him driving a church bus for a youth ministry before health issues took its toll. He will be remembered by his family, friends, and canine companion “Skippy”, for his many acts of kindness, humorous wit, and mischievous smile.

Preceded in death by his parents: Jake and Mary Kennedy; brothers Lonzie, John, and Leon Kennedy; and sisters Deelie Thomas, Della Phillips, and Tensie Nelson,

He is survived by his loving wife Phyllis Kennedy; daughter Brenda Rookard and husband Joe and Ronda Massengill and husband Jeff; grandchildren Ashley Clark and husband Ben and Nathan Rookard and wife Briana; great-grandchildren AnnaClaire Rookard, and Tristan Clark; sister Martha Thrasher of Albany, Ky; brothers Joe Kennedy of Jacksboro, TN, Clyde Kennedy and wife Sandra of Parker, IN, and Elbert Kennedy and wife Doris of Rocky Top, TN; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 PM in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. George Asbury officiating. Family and friends will meet on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 10:15 AM at Martin Wilson Funeral Home to go in funeral procession for a 11:00 AM interment at Jacksboro Cemetery.

Jonica Marie Sances

Jonica Marie Sances, age39, of LaFollette passed away on Wednesday April 7, 2021. She was a member of Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She spent her early life in Baton Rouge, LA where she was born. Jonica was a good friend to many, had a loving heart and a kind word to all. She will be missed by all who knew her, especially her two daughters Adara and Addyson. Preceded in death by grandparents: Murphy and Jackie Williams and John and Lena Sances

Pat Anna Lee, age 75, of LaFollette passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. She was a member of Indiana Avenue Baptist Church and retired from LaFollette Housing Authority. Preceded in death by parents: Harvey and Muriel Berry Turner, brother: Danny Turner.

George Eugene Evans

George Eugene Evans, age 82, of Caryville passed away on Monday April 5th, 2021. Preceded in death by Wife: Geraldine (Jo) Evans, Parents: James Oliver and Bessie Lindsay Evans, Brothers: Leo, Audrey, Charles and J.H. Kyle Evans, Sister: Peggy Sweeney. He was the owner of Evans Maintenance Service and was a Southern Baptist.

Family and friends will meet 10 AM Thursday at Cross-Smith Funeral Home and proceed to Evans Cemetery for 11 AM Interment with Military Honors by Campbell County Honor Guard.

John C. Williams

John C. Williams went home to be with the Lord on April 2, 2021. He worked for the Campbell County Highway Department where he retired after 38 years. He attended Ford Town Baptist Church of LaFollette. JC was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed working on his farm and being outdoors but must of all he loved spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Williams, and Annie (Vinsant) Williams; brothers Burgin, Harvey, and Oscar Williams; sisters Corene, Retha Mae, and Ruby Williams and Christine Franks.

JC leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Niva Jean Williams; sons Delain Williams and wife Mary, and Greg Williams of Jacksboro; daughters Vivian “Dee” Williams of Knoxville, Pamela Daugherty and husband Keith Daugherty of Jacksboro, Michelle Munsey and husband Charles Munsey of Nancy, Ky; 7 grandchildren who were the pride of his life: Missy Spradling and husband Randy Spradlin, Ashley Housewright and husband Billy Housewright, Brandon Williams and wife Amy Williams, Diane Daugherty, Blake Williams and wife Sonny Williams, Taylor and Kaitlyn Munsey; 6 great grandchildren: Madison Spradlin, Kenzie Housewright, Jesse Williams, Emily, Amber, and Madison Mitchell.

He will be greatly missed by many.

The family had a private graveside service at Indian Creek Cemetery with Terry Mefford officiating. The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Fordtown Baptist Church youth program.
