Stephen Ray Ivey

Stephen Ray Ivey, age 43 of LaFollette, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021. He was a very selfless person who touched everyone he met. Stephen had a lot of friends and family whom he loved very much, and he also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Spencer Ivey, Ruby Ivey, James Harrison McGinnis and Eva Louise Adkins.

He is survived by his parents Robert and Linda Petrey of LaFollette; wife Tracy Ward of LaFollette; son Stephen Blake Ivey of Jacksboro; stepson James Miller of North Carolina; stepdaughters Emily Ward Goodman and husband Matthew of Jacksboro and Hollie Shepherd of Caryville; brothers Anthony Petrey and wife Mandy of Crossville and Timothy Petrey and wife Kristyn of Jacksboro; sisters Lisa Bowlin and husband Stuart of Andersonville and Lesa Petrey of Georgia; nephews Isiah Petrey and Ryan Petrey; and a host of other friends and relatives.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Powell Valley Cemetery.

Robert William “Bob” Wilson

Robert William “Bob” Wilson, age of 79 of LaFollette, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 11, 2021. He was born to the late Bill Wilson Jr. and Beulah (Hembree) Wilson on February 24, 1942. He enjoyed polishing on his truck, which had to be a Chevy. He also enjoyed visiting people, hanging out at the garage, especially at Kitts Paint and Body, riding his four-wheeler, and playing cards at the Rock. He especially enjoyed his dog Blackie and loved spending time with his family and friends. Bob retired from CSX railroad after 25 years of service and he was a US Army Veteran.

In addition to his parents Bob is preceded in death by his wife Cathy Wilson.

He is survived by his sons Robbie Wilson of LaFollette and Erick Brandenburg and wife Amber of LaFollette; daughters Teresa Ogg and husband Gary of Jacksboro, Tina Smith and husband Billy of Jacksboro, Leann Copeland and husband David of Jacksboro, and Elisa Brandenburg and fiancé Stanley Heatherly of Jacksboro; mother of his children Carolyn Wilson; sisters Ruth Clotfelter and husband Frank of LaFollette and Betty Russell and husband Stanley of Indiana; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one on the way; special friends Mike Bowlin and Junior Walden; and several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, March 14, 2021 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Harry James and Rev. Leon Fritts officiating. The family and friends will meet on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 10:15AM to go in funeral procession to Campbell Memorial Gardens for a 11:00 AM interment with Military Honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the nurses of Caris Hospice and Cumberland Village Nursing Home for the loving care and kindness that was shown to our father.

Vivian June Shoffner

Vivian June Shoffner, age 74, of Jacksboro passed away on March 11, 2021. She attended Woodlake Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband: Charles Ray Shoffner, parents Esker and Ilenia Florence (Guy) Bailey, sister: Anna Margaret Bailey, brothers: Herbert Lee Bailey, Ernest Bailey

Saralyn Jennings Bowman

Mrs. Saralyn Jennings Bowman age 84 of LaFollette passed away Monday, March 8,2021. Along with her Husband, Dick Bowman, they moved to the area in 2001 and immediately became active with various area churches including LaFollette First Presbyterian, LaFollette First Baptist Church, and Fincastle United Methodist Church. She and her Husband enjoyed exploring the beauty of the surrounding mountains and learning of local history. Saralyn certainly had a great love of the beautiful East Tennessee area. Preceded in death by Husband, Richard Holmes “Dick” Bowman in 2018, Parents, William Mansfield Jennings, Sr. and Sara Home Jennings, and Brother, William Mansfield Jennings, Jr.

Survivors: Son, Ken Mansfield Bowman and wife, Shawn; Daughter, Danielle Bowman; Granddaughters, Victoria Paige Cribley and husband, Kyle Ernest Cribley, and Makenna Rae Douds and husband, Corbin Anthony Douds; Great-Grandchildren, Easton Lucas Douds, Grayson Cole Cribley, and one on the way; Brother, Dr. Jerome Jennings and wife, Beverly. Several Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives and friends.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, March16, 2021, 11:00 A.M. at Powell Valley Cemetery & Memorial Gardens with Rev. Malcolm King officiating. Mary Elizabeth Proffitt

Mary Elizabeth Proffitt, age 76 of Calvin, KY, formerly of LaFollette, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. She was born on March 5, 1945 to the late Willie Bennett and Clista Carroll Bennett. Mary enjoyed cooking, singing, going to flea markets, and working.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother William “Sonny” Bennett and sisters Donna Lehitm, Dorothy Carroll, Joann Murphy, Juanita King, Wilma King, Shirley Bennett, Linda Bennett, and Betty Love.

She is survived by her sons; Darryl Proffitt of LaFollette, Derrick Proffitt of Nashville, and Darren Proffitt of LaFollette; brothers G.Y. Bennett and Carroll Bennett; sister Joyce Simmons of TN; grandchildren Colby Proffitt and Kayla Proffitt Hardy; special friend David Miracle; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 PM on Saturday, March 13, 2021 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 12:00 PM with Rev. Ronnie Freeman officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service at Powell Valley Cemetery.
