Phillip Arnold “Zol” Young

Phillip Arnold “Zol” Young, age 71 of LaFollette, went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ, mother, father, sister, and other fallen brothers of the Southern Sons on Sunday, February 14, 2021. He was a member of the Southern Sons for over thirty years and he enjoyed riding his motorcycle coast to coast with his brother David, which they have done several times.

He is preceded in death by his wife Anna Freeman; parents Lonas Young and Naomi (Wright) Young; sister Annette Young; and sister-in-law Karen Young.

He is survived by sons Jeremy Young and wife Heather of LaFollette , Josh Young and fiancé Laura Bowens of Jacksboro; extended sons Jered Hurt, Erok Solberg, Tielor Carson, and Frank Asbury; daughters Paige Rettberg of LaFollette and MaKayla Ledford of LaFollette; brother David Young of LaFollette; sister Sherry Murray and Fiancé Doug Bruce of Knoxville; grandchildren Maddyson, Andy, Eli, Alex, and Ian Young, Peyton Lasley Kitts and husband Samuel, Allison Rettberg and fiancé Hannah Huckaby, Jeremy Roger “Raj” Young, Scotti Rettberg, Lucas, Lilly, and Evan Young, and Princeton Bowens.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:30 AM on Saturday, February 20, 2021 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 11:30 AM with Rev. Jim Mullens and Rev. H.R Douglas. Interment will follow funeral service at Bakers Forge Cemetery.

The family has entrusted the care of Phillip Arnold “Zol” Young to Martin Wilson Funeral Home “Where Families Matter Most.”

Gail Bradley, age 65, of LaFollette passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2021. She was a member of the Glade Springs Baptist Church Family. Preceded in death by husband: Jim Bradley, parents: Jeff Davis Dasher and Bonnie Connell Dasher.

Larry Wayne Cornett

Mr. Larry Wayne Cornett, age 64 of LaFollette entered Heavens gates on Friday, February 12, 2021, at 2:30 A.M. in Nashville, TN. A devoted Christian of many years who served as Deacon for his loving church family at Heritage Baptist Church. Larry was a very humble and kind hearted person that touched many hearts through his lifetime. He never knew a stranger and would wholeheartedly help anyone in need. If he wasn’t at home in his garden you could find him fishing and enjoying life out on the lake with family and friends. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Sue Cornett, Father and Mother, Donald Cornett and Irene Cornett.

Survivors: Son, Thomas Cornett and Rebecca, his Brother, Chuck and sister-in-law, Jewel; Granddaughter, Catey Phillips, and his Wonderful Friend, Brenda Thomas. Several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, other relatives friends.

Funeral Services Tuesday, February 16, 2021, 2:00 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Hillard and Larry’s Nephew, Andrew Bruce officiating. Interment to follow at Powell Valley Cemetery & Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. before funeral services. Beulah Dykes, age 84, of LaFollette passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021. Preceded in death by husband: Lowell Dykes, parents: Ed and Maggie Partin Smith, nine brothers and sisters.

Wanda Faye Ivey Phillips

Mrs. Wanda Faye Ivey Phillips, age 68, of LaFollette, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021. She was born November 21, 1952, and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Wanda was retired from Imperial Reading and Levi Strauss. She loved working in her flowers, and loved animals. Preceded in death by Parents, Oscar and Mary Miller.

Survivors: Son, Harley Miller; Granddaughter, Cassie Miller; Sister, Jennifer Prater and husband, Charlie; Brother, Charles Miller and wife, Starla; Nephew, Travis Prater; Nieces, Melissa Prater, Brandi McCarty, and Candi Webb; Great Nieces, Madison Partin and Chloe Phillips. Several other relatives and friends.
