Chris Cagle to Headline Saturday Night Spot

The East Tennessee Country Music Festival and Campout to be held May 13-15, 2011 at Mountain Creek Farm in Speedwell, TN has been on a talent booking spree all week.

The Speedwell, TN festival office announced late yesterday its newest addition to the 3 day lakeside country party, Chris Cagle. Earlier in the week, SuperTwang announced Craig Morgan, Rhett Akins, Blackberry Smoke and Joe Coe. More country artists are still to be announced for the one huge main stage at Norris Lake. Since 2000, Chris has rocketed to the top of the country music industry known for his live performances.

About Chris Cagle
Cagle was born in DeRidder, Louisiana and at age 4 his family moved to Sugarland, TX.
After graduating high school, he attended University of Texas at Arlington and performed at night in nearby clubs. Chris then moved to Nashville in 1994 at the behest of entertainment attorney Rod Phelps. While in Nashville, Cagle was waiting tables and tending bar while working to improve himself as a songwriter.

One big break came when he met the legendary Harlan Howard, who was so impressed with Chris’s songwriting progress. Chris then landed a publishing deal and had songs recorded by David Kersh. This led him to Virgin Records head Scott Hendricks, who signed him to a label deal. Chris currently lives in Ardmore, in southern Oklahoma.

Chris has released 8 videos, 13 singles and 5 albums, The albums are: “Play It Loud”, “Chris Cagle”, “Anywhere But Here” and “My Life’s Been a Country Song” and “The best of Chris Cagle”.

“Play It Loud” was followed in 2002 by “Chris Cagle”, released on Capitol Records Nashville. Also as a gold album in the U.S., it produced the Top 5 hits “What a Beautiful Day” and “Chicks Dig It”. Anywhere but Here, his third compilation, followed in 2005 and produced the #12-peaking “Miss Me Baby”. A fourth studio album, titled “My Life’s Been a Country Song”, was released in 2008, and its lead-off single, “What Kinda Gone”, peaked at #3 on the country music charts in early 2008.

Chris is convinced that his long period of enforced vocal rest–something his restless spirit found nearly intolerable at the time–have left him in a better place vocally. He said, “the dynamic of the vocal. I’m not just singing hard at everything. I’ve been learning, listening to people like Conway Twitty, and there were times recording things when I’d think, ‘Yeah, that’s natural. That’s what you want.'”

Chris Cagle supports St. Jude Children’s hospital. Chris will perform his hits Sat, May, 14, 2011 at SuperTwang Country Music Festival. For more information and tickets logon to supertwang.com

SuperTwang Signs Craig Morgan & Blackberry Smoke

SuperTwang Country Music Festival kicks into overdrive!  United Festival Company confirmed today Country Music Headliner Craig Morgan for Friday, May 13 and Blackberry Smoke to also play the main stage Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the weekend country campout in Campbell County, Tennessee! The two latest announcements join 14 other country and country rock artists now on board the Norris Lake Spectacular.

More Artists are being booked for this one of a kind festival, needed in this country music loving area.

About Craig Morgan

When Craig Morgan was ten years old, on a school field trip to Nashville, he sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” well enough to catch the ear of a distinctive older lady in the crowd. “She walked up to me and said, ‘Son, someday you’re gonna be a famous singer,” Morgan remembers.

Two-plus decades later, he’d be looking at a picture of the woman – Minnie Pearl – in the Ryman Auditorium dressing room that bears her name, getting ready for his first performance on the Grand Ole Opry. What Minnie didn’t know was that before his moment in the spotlight finally came, Morgan would be an EMT, a contractor, a Sheriff’s deputy and a Wal-Mart assistant dairy manager. He’d also spend ten years serving his country in the U.S. Army.

One of country music’s best-loved artists, Craig Morgan has made a name for himself with massive radio airplay of his signature hits: “Bonfire,” “Almost Home,” “Redneck Yacht Club,” “That’s What I Love About Sunday” (Billboard’s most-played country song of the year in 2005), and “International Harvester.” Craig’s current single, “Still A Little Chicken Left On That Bone,” is the first single from his forthcoming new album. Craig received one of country music’s highest honors when he was inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2008.

A Country Music superstar and celebrated TV host, Craig Morgan, is preparing to make his ninth visit to entertain U.S. troops stationed overseas, as part of the Stars For Stripes tour. Morgan will embark on the “NOT ALONE” tour, performing for service members stationed in Iraq and Kuwait, from Jan 27 through Feb 3.

About Blackberry Smoke

Atlanta based Blackberry Smoke continues to grow into the premiere Southern Rock band of America. Over the last 12 months they have shared the stage with ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Shooter Jennings, Cross Canadian Ragweed and countless others. The band has recently finished recording their sophomore effort “Little Piece Of Dixie” with legendary producer Dann Huff (Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts) and engineer Justin Niebank, to be released summer of 2009.

Overall, Akins’s albums have accounted for fourteen singles on the Billboard country singles charts, including the Number One “Don’t Get Me Started”.

It was included on his album People Like Me, which was originally to have been released via BNA on June 14, 2006, but was ultimately self-released in June 2007. Rhett Akins has released 6 albums since 1995 with his latest self-released “Down South”

In 2010, Akins and fellow country music songwriter Dallas Davidson released the album Michael Waddell’s Bone Collector: “The Brotherhood Album”, through Reprise Records Nashville.
